Alterna Energía, a company dedicated to developing comprehensive photovoltaic and self-consumption installation solutions, has been awarded the public contract for the construction and maintenance, for one year, of four plants in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), following a competitive process in which more than ten companies from the sector participated. Specifically, the four projects are located in Santa Coloma de Cervelló, Sant Cugat del Vallès, Gavà, and Sant Adrià del Besòs.
The four plants will generate a total power of 375 kWp distributed among the Escola Güell in Santa Coloma de Cervelló (100 kWp), the Escola Municipal de Música Victòria dels Àngels in Sant Cugat del Vallès (100 kWp), the Centre de Suport a l’Empresa building in Gavà (75 kWp), and finally, the Poliesportiu Municipal CEM Besòs in Sant Adrià del Besòs (100 kWp). Furthermore, with their commissioning, the Barcelona Metropolitan Area will generate 515 MWh of energy.
These four new installations are part of the Framework Program for Energy and Climate Actions (PMEC) of the AMB , specifically the 100% Renewable Municipalities 2030 initiative, which aims to achieve carbon neutrality in municipal energy consumption (buildings and public lighting) before 2030, by installing 100 MWp of new photovoltaic capacity and reducing energy consumption by 50%.
