April 16, 2025.- Alterna Energía, a company specializing in the development of comprehensive solutions for photovoltaic installations, has carried out the installation of two photovoltaic plants for the Ingenostrum Group: Polacra Solar 2 and Polacra Solar 4. These new facilities reinforce Alterna Energía’s commitment to the energy transition and the generation of clean energy in Spain.

Located in Castile-La Mancha, specifically in Manzanares and Santa Cruz de Mudela, the plants represent a significant step toward sustainability:

Polacra Solar 2 has a peak power of 1,303.82 kWdc and a generation capacity of approximately 2.55 GWh/year, allowing for a savings of 1,100 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to the energy consumption of more than 500 homes. On the other hand, Polacra Solar 4, with a power of 3,347.12 kWdc and a fixed structure, has an estimated production of 5.5 GWh/year, which translates into a reduction of 2,400 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to the consumption of approximately 1,100 homes. Both facilities inject the generated energy directly into the distribution grid, contributing to the supply of clean and sustainable energy for Castile-La Mancha.

The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) business unit has experienced the most significant growth, now representing 25% of the company’s total activity. In 2024, Alterna Energía managed a maintenance portfolio of 800 MW, providing specialized technical services to over 100 clients across Spain.

October 9, 2025.- Alterna Energía, a company specializing in the development and maintenance of solar installations and energy storage solutions, strengthens its energy storage division with the award of 2 new BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) projects in Extremadura, specifically in Badajoz and Cáceres.

In total, the 2 battery storage projects will have an installed capacity of 35 MW and a storage capacity of 70 MWh, and their execution will be carried out progressively between 2025 and 2026, depending on the readiness of each site. The company will lead the project as a full-service integrator, covering the design, engineering, assembly, supply, installation, commissioning, and final testing of each system.

The execution of these projects consolidates Alterna Energía as one of the main EPC integrators in the BESS sector nationwide, expanding its territorial presence and its technological portfolio.

An in-house technical team and state-of-the-art technology

Alterna Energía directly handles key project phases, such as engineering, partial assembly, and on-site technical supervision, thanks to its highly qualified in-house technical team. Furthermore, these new projects will incorporate state-of-the-art technology, including high-performance LFP batteries in outdoor containers, bidirectional PCS systems with grid forming and blackstart capabilities, EMS systems with AI-driven optimization, native integration with PPC, trader functionalities for operation in electricity markets, as well as auxiliary systems, MVS, and medium voltage protections.

This is not the first project of its kind for the company, which already has two BESS plants in operation. This new award represents a significant expansion of its project portfolio, reinforcing its technological specialization and experience in the sector.
