Alterna Energía, an expert company in photovoltaic self-consumption for businesses, has been awarded the maintenance contract for three major plants in Cáceres (Extremadura), totaling 137 MWp of power.

Specifically, this involves long-term maintenance for the Cáceres 2020 plant, which has a capacity of 51 MWp, Cáceres 2021, with 53 MWp, and Cáceres 2023, with 33 MWp. The three plants have an estimated annual production of 252,467 MWh, an activity that will supply more than 72,000 families.

The three plants cover an area of 185 hectares and will prevent the emission of more than 238,328 tons of CO2.

According to Esther Morlanes, General Manager of Alterna Energía: “With this project, we strengthen our presence in the Extremadura region and have the opportunity to provide our services to three major plants in the area. We are very proud to once again have the trust that Alter Enersun has placed in us for the maintenance of their plants.”

Three plants integrated into the environment with a significant economic impact. These three Alter Enersun facilities have had a major economic impact on the province, as more than 600 jobs were created during construction, in addition to around 20 more employees (direct and indirect) during the 30-year lifespan of the facilities.

With the start of the plant maintenance, Alterna Energía will generate 7 permanent jobs, with the potential presence of 4 temporary workers throughout the year.

Furthermore, the Cáceres facilities represent a commitment to local development and environmental integration by using the land to graze livestock that provides milk for the Torta del Casar Protected Designation of Origin.
