Alterna Energía, a company specialising in photovoltaic self-consumption for businesses, has been awarded the maintenance contract for one of the largest photovoltaic plants located in the province of Huelva: Huelva 2021.
This award is in addition to the Huelva 2020 plant, for which Alterna Energía has already been responsible for maintenance for a year.
Huelva 2020, for which Alterna Energía was already responsible for maintenance, and Huelva 2021 together total 113,686 solar panels that will produce 100 GWh per year—energy equivalent to the consumption of the municipality of Huelva.
The start of the maintenance service has created eight permanent local jobs.
Bruc Energy owns Huelva 2020, while Huelva 2021 belongs to Bruc Alter Energías Renovables, a joint venture formed by Bruc Energy and Alter Enersun. Both were developed by Alter Enersun. The plant has a total of 113,686 solar panels that will produce 100 GWh per year, and its output is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 28,000 households. Specifically, the operation of the two plants will result in a reduction of 180,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
The maintenance contracts for both Huelva 2020 and Huelva 2021 are set for the long term. Their scope includes a comprehensive service covering preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as monitoring. With the launch of maintenance for both plants, Alterna Energía is generating a significant local economic impact by creating 8 direct local jobs.
